David has over 25 years' global fundraising experience across the alternative investments spectrum including Private Equity, Debt, Credit and Real Estate. Beginning his financial career at Kleinwort Benson in 1986, David subsequently worked at Macquarie Bank (London and Sydney), Banque Indosuez (Bahrain), and UBS before co-founding the Alternatives Group at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson (DrKW) in 2000 and First Avenue Partners in 2005. In 2006 he founded Karroo Capital.
From 2009-2015 David served as an Independent Director on the Supervisory Board of Fondinvest; a European leader and pioneer in Private Equity Fund of Funds and Secondaries with over €2.5bn AUM before its sale to a consortium of private buyers.
David served as an Officer in the Royal Air Force Regiment between 1981-1986
Torsten has over 18 years' experience placing venture capital and private equity funds in Europe. Prior to joining Karroo Capital in 2012, Torsten worked with Cygnus Capital and Trinity Group before founding his own placement firm Orchard Capital in 2009.
The earlier part of his career was spent in the British Army (Royal Engineers) and in offshore oil exploration with Schlumberger
Philip Swire has more than 25 years' experience placing alternative investment funds and building companies. He has been involved in raising more than 70 different funds as well as several private placings for individual companies.
Prior to joining Karroo Capital in 2018, Philip held senior positions at Lipworth Capital, Campbell Lutyens & Co, Bankers Trust Deutsche Bank, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and Hambros Bank. Philip is also a Member of ESR's Advisory Board; a leading Pan Asia-Pacific Logistics Developer and Operator with $13bn AUM.

Philippe has a 30 years' international experience in building and operating capital markets and alternative investment distribution platforms. This includes, hedge funds, private equity, SIV's, and real estate. Philippe joined Karroo in 2015. From 2012 to 2014 Philippe had a Senior Partner position with Sudarskis & Partners, a partnership focusing exclusively on providing solutions to SWFs. In 2007, he co-founded Case Advisors Ltd, a specialist advisor to investment managers and privately held enterprises. In 2001, he co-founded Allianz Hedge Fund Partners, where he served as co-CEO and co-Head of Business Development before selling the business to AGF in March 2007. At Citibank from 1987 to 2001, Philippe exercised multiple roles and responsibilities between London, Paris and Geneva including as Regional Head of Distribution for Citigroup Alternative Investment Strategies (AIS) in Europe. Philippe started his financial career in Belgium with Generale Bank (Brussels).
Jeremy has over 30 years' financial markets and sales experience including the promotion of a wide variety of traditional and alternative investment funds to UK and European investors. Before joining Karroo Capital in 2009, Jeremy successfully built and diversified the investor base in Europe for a $2bn US based hedge fund as an independent consultant. Previous roles included leading the emerging markets sales desk at Flemings JP Morgan, building the Asian broking business at County Natwest and managing the sales team at an Australian broking firm.
Georges was head of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority's (ADIA) Private Equity portfolio from 1998-2009. He led the growth of their PE portfolio from $400m to $26bn in commitments. With a small team of just 13 investment professionals, Georges oversaw investments into 400 funds and 70 co-investments. In this period his team analysed more than 5,000 proposals and negotiated many hundreds of LPAs. Ranked 23/100 in PEI's "Most influential people of the decade" (2000-2010): "Turned ADIA into an LP leader; now back in Europe the industry still listens when he speaks". Georges now runs his own independent practice Sudarskis & Partners based in Brussels. Besides advising a number of Sovereign Wealth funds and pension funds globally, Georges also sits on several PE Fund boards in a variety of capacities.
